    Job Title: Program Manager

    Job Description

    This position involves managing transportation projects funded by state or federal government, executed by local agencies. The role serves as a key coordinator between departments, legal teams, and local governments to ensure all agreements are clear, accurate, and compliant with regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Collaborate with legal and project teams to create and manage contracts for road and transportation projects.

    + Ensure all paperwork and funding details comply with state and federal guidelines.

    + Monitor project timelines, budgets, and required documentation.

    + Utilize online systems to upload and manage contracts and project updates.

    + Assist local governments in adhering to planning, design, construction, and inspection regulations.

    + Manage special funding programs to support small counties and economic development.

    + Support emergency relief efforts for transportation infrastructure post-disasters.

    + Review and process invoices to ensure timely and accurate payments to local agencies.

    + Assist with audits and maintain accurate financial records.

    + Train local agencies to maintain certification and adhere to proper procedures.

    + Identify process improvements and contribute to updating internal procedures.

    Essential Skills

    + Understanding of government contracts and transportation projects.

    + Proficiency in using computers and business software.

    + Excellent communication skills with coworkers, government officials, and the public.

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

    + Problem-solving skills and ability to make informed decisions based on data.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant work experience.

    + Advanced degrees or professional experience in engineering, finance, public administration, or urban planning may substitute education requirements.

    + Experience with FDOT or DOT, project coordination, construction, and contracts administration.

    Work Environment

    The position operates within an office environment, requiring full-time availability from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The role demands quick responsiveness during emergencies as part of the Transportation Emergency Management Team. This is a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity offering potential for paid time off and holiday negotiations.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
