Job Description
Join a dynamic team as a Medical Assistant in the Neuro Department. This role involves providing exceptional patient care by taking vital signs, assisting healthcare providers, and maintaining organized and well-stocked examination rooms. You will also play a crucial role in transitioning data to the EPIC system, ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Take and record vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure in the electronic health record.
+ Assist in converting data from Allscripts to EPIC.
+ Chaperone and assist Providers and LPNs/RNs as requested.
+ Maintain clean, well-equipped examination rooms, and clean and sterilize instruments.
+ Stock examination rooms and triage areas with medical supplies, inventory, and submit reorder requests to the LPN Supervisor.
+ Take messages in the electronic health record, page doctors when appropriate, and answer inquiries.
+ Schedule patient appointments as needed.
+ Greet patients in a patient-centered, courteous manner, and manage patient arrivals in the Practice Management Software system.
+ Perform phone triage and various in-house labs, recording them per policy.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
+ Certified or Registered Medical Assistant certification.
+ Experience in taking patient intake and vital signs.
+ Experience with EPIC system, triage, and electronic medical records (EMR).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 1+ year of medical assistant experience preferred.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Experience using Allscripts.
Work Environment
This role is based in Norfolk, Virginia. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The facility promotes a learning environment where employees have opportunities for growth and skill development within the healthcare field.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
