    Job Title: Principal Mixed-Signal & FPGA Design EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Principal Electrical Engineer with deep expertise in mixed-signal circuit design, FPGA development, and PCB-level integration. This role supports the development of advanced embedded systems and high-speed digital hardware for mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in signal integrity, power analysis, and electromagnetic simulation, along with hands-on experience leading complex circuit card assembly (CCA) projects.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead the design and development of mixed-signal PCBs integrating high-speed digital and analog components.

    + Architect and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL for Xilinx and Microsemi platforms.

    + Perform signal and power integrity analysis using tools such as Siemens HyperLynx, Cadence Sigrity, and ANSYS HFSS.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define stack-ups, impedance profiles, and layout constraints for high-speed interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR4, SATA3, USB3).

    + Simulate and validate electromagnetic performance using HFSS and SIwave.

    + Support firmware and software integration for embedded systems and telemetry applications.

    + Lead technical reviews, mentor junior engineers, and manage design schedules and deliverables.

    + Interface with manufacturing and test teams to troubleshoot and validate hardware.

    + Ensure compliance with DoD standards and maintain documentation for design traceability.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

    + 10+ years of experience in high-speed digital and analog board design.

    + Proficiency in FPGA development (VHDL) and embedded system integration.

    + Strong background in signal integrity, power distribution network (PDN) design, and EMI/EMC mitigation.

    + Experience with tools such as HyperLynx, Sigrity, HFSS, MATLAB, and LabVIEW.

    + Demonstrated leadership in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

    + Active DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with phased array systems, RFSoCs, or missile guidance electronics.

    + Familiarity with telemetry systems and secure data transmission.

    + Background in test equipment development and ATE support.

    Work Environment

    The work environment involves collaboration with cross-functional teams using advanced tools and technologies. The role requires adherence to DoD standards and may involve working with sensitive information, necessitating a DoD Secret clearance.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Dallas, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $160000.00 - $190000.00/yr.
