Position Description
The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. Our pipelines transport natural gas, gasoline, crude oil, carbon dioxide (CO2) and more. Our terminals store and handle renewable fuels, petroleum products, chemicals, vegetable oils and other products. We are a market leader in each of our businesses – Natural Gas Pipelines, Products Pipelines, CO2, and Terminals. We have an unparalleled, large footprint of diversified and strategically located assets that are core to North American energy infrastructure and help deliver needed energy products to high-demand markets. With approximately 66,000 miles of natural gas pipelines, Kinder Morgan owns an interest in or operates the largest natural gas network in North America. We serve the major consuming markets of the United States, and our pipelines transport approximately 40 percent of the natural gas consumed in the U.S. Our pipelines are connected to every important natural gas resource play and supply area, including the Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Bakken, Utica, Uinta Permian, Haynesville, Fayetteville and Barnett.
This position will report to the Manager, Technical Services for Division 10 Office in Mercer, Pennsylvania.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ The development and review of safety and regulatory compliance tracking and reporting.
+ Analysis of operational data and the development of performance and reliability metrics.
+ The development and implementation of projects to ensure operational reliability and efficiency.
+ Miscellaneous pipeline and compressor engineering calculations and monitoring.
+ The development of a capstone presentation to summarize activities and learning during BOLT Internship.
+ Candidate must be working toward an engineering degree and entering Junior or Senior year of college
Position Requirements
+ Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office – (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
+ Good verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability and desire to work in a team environment and to be able to work independently.
+ Technical writing ability.
+ Office environment with occasional field work within compressor station and pipeline right-of-way areas.
+ Overnight travel may occasionally be required
+ Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the Division.
