Job Title: Building Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Stationary Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing all plant equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Schedule and perform preventive maintenance, corrective, and emergency repairs on all utility systems and equipment.

+ Operate and maintain all physical plant equipment including chillers, boilers, air handlers, air compressors, vacuum pumps, and control systems.

+ Utilize the Computer Maintenance Management System to document all work performed throughout the building.

+ Comply with Lockout Tag-out policy when working on equipment and utility systems.

+ Conduct general building repairs, painting/patching, plumbing, lights, and minor electrical troubleshooting and repair.

+ Ensure mechanical areas are clean and maintain a safe working environment.

+ Respond immediately to emergencies involving essential utilities and equipment during working hours and remain onsite until the emergency is resolved.

+ Act as a member of the Facility Engineering On-call service team responsible for responding to all after-hours building emergencies during the assigned week.

+ Keep the Manager of Facilities Maintenance informed about significant issues and seek counsel when necessary.

+ Maintain skills, licensure, regulatory requirements, and credentials needed to perform assigned duties.

+ Oversee the operation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of all equipment and utility systems.

+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and standards.

+ Work with and monitor outside contractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with required standards.

+ Monitor and report on all project work associated with the facility.

+ Maintain necessary parts and supplies to ensure timely repairs.

+ Submit and enter parts and supply requests for approval.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficient in troubleshooting, electrical work, repair, and mechanical systems.

+ Experience with HVAC systems, boilers, and as a maintenance technician.

+ Must have active Maryland 1st Grade Stationary Engineer License

**Schedule** :

+ The schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday 6am-2:30pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Silver Spring, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Silver Spring,MD.
