    Robert Half Finance & Accounting (New York, NY)


    Description

    Our client, a dynamic, design-led Advertising company, is looking for a Controller to join their NY team. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the financial governance of the North American operations while collaborating closely with global colleagues across design, strategy, and production disciplines.

    Responsibilities of this position will include:

    • Lead all aspects of financial reporting — from monthly statements and variance analysis to cash flow management and forecasting.

    • Oversee accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and revenue recognition.

    • Partner with operating companies and external advisors to ensure technical accounting excellence.

    • Manage the annual financial audit process and maintain compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.

    • Design and implement accounting policies and internal controls to support business growth.

    • Present monthly financial results and insights to senior leadership.

    • Collaborate with Commercials Lead on pricing, costing, and cost-saving initiatives.

    • Champion process improvements and contribute to strategic projects that enhance efficiency and transparency.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field

    • CPA with 8+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a background in Advertising

    • Experience with Sage X3 highly preferred

    • Exceptional analytical ability, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.

    • Strong communication skills — able to explain complex financial concepts clearly and confidently
