Job Title: Accounts Receivable / Billing Analyst – Invoicing Specialist
Schedule: Full-time | Must work Pacific Time hours
Reports To: Accounting Manager / Finance Director
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Receivable / Billing Analyst (Invoicing Specialist) to join our non-profit finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical and Medicaid billing, with at least 3 years of healthcare billing and invoicing experience. This role will manage the end-to-end invoicing process, ensure billing accuracy, and maintain compliance with payer requirements.
The position is hybrid for Bay Area candidates (required on-site in San Mateo Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) or remote for out-of-area candidates able to work PST hours.
Key Responsibilities
+ Prepare, review, and process approximately 50 invoices per month for healthcare services.
+ Manage Medicaid and other medical billing submissions, ensuring compliance with payer requirements and timelines.
+ Reconcile accounts receivable and track payment status to ensure timely collections.
+ Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or payment issues.
+ Maintain accurate documentation of invoices, remittances, and billing adjustments.
+ Collaborate with internal teams (Finance, Operations, and Client Services) to ensure accurate billing data.
+ Generate AR and billing reports as needed for management review.
+ Assist with month-end close activities and audit support as requested.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ 3+ years of experience in healthcare billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable.
+ Strong knowledge of Medicaid billing and medical billing processes required.
+ Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 / Business Central or similar ERP systems is highly preferred.
+ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and meet strict deadlines.
+ Must pass a background and drug screening prior to employment.
Work Environment & Schedule
+ Hybrid (3 days on-site: Mon, Wed, Thurs in San Mateo, CA) for Bay Area candidates.
+ Remote option available for qualified candidates willing to work Pacific Time (PST) hours.
