    Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Engineering and Planning Department (Code 200), Combat Systems Division (Code 290), Sail Mechanical, Towed Array and Towed Buoy Systems (Code 295) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will serve as a work leader assisting the branch head with assigning routine day-to-day assignments and establishing daily time and attendance. You will conduct and perform pre-arrival testing to identify required repairs. You will prepare and perform review of all test specifications, check-off sheets, and inspection procedures to be used in testing of assigned systems. You will act as a troubleshooter in the identification and resolution of problems encountered during installations and testing phases pf waterfront production efforts. You will make investigations of testing failures and prepare reports including remedial action to prevent further occurrences. You will identify requirements and requisitions all required material and specify the changes in work methods and procedures practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying technical methods, techniques, procedures, and/or policies related to sail mechanical, towed array handling systems, towed buoy systems, and optical alignments associated with nuclear and non-nuclear aircraft carriers, submarines, shore station systems and other surface ships. Experience evaluating changes to NAVSEA, corporate and local policies and directives, evaluating required process and procedural changes, and implementing those required changes affecting Combat Systems. Experience developing training materials and administering training departmental/divisional policies/processes. Experience evaluating and applying the latest developments and techniques in solving problems not readily treatable by traditional or accepted methods. Experience originating and implementing local and corporate policies. Experience maintaining divisional repository of instructions and process manuals and ensuring timely periodic reviews are in accordance with existing policy.
