    ### Job Duties

    Kind of Work

    A Part-Time Service Center Specialist assists the public to obtain licenses, permits and titles in the County Auditor's Mall Service Center Office. This is a public facing, customer-service oriented position in a fast-paced environment. Experience in handling cash in a customer facing role is preferred.

    This position is part-time (0.5 FTE) with the following bi-weekly schedule:

     

    4 Days a week 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

     

    Every other Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1:15 p.m.

     

    4 Days a week 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

    64.25 Hours per pay period

     

    St. Louis County does not participate in E-Verify. All employees must be continuously authorized to work in the United States, for St. Louis County, on a full-time basis. St. Louis County does not provide sponsorship for employment visas.

    Distinguishing Features of Work

    An employee in this class is responsible for a wide variety of customer service-related transactions. Duties include evaluating, reviewing documents for inaccuracies or possible fraud, preparing and processing Minnesota identification card applications, driver's license applications, processing and renewing registrations for vehicles and recreational vehicles, and completing title transfers; accepting and processing passports; issuing Department of Natural Resources (DNR) titles, licenses and renewals; and receiving payments for property taxes. The work is performed under the direction of assigned supervisory staff.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATION (Pass/Fail):

    High school diploma or its equivalent.

     

    Three (3) years full-time paid verifiable experience in a position requiring handling cash transactions.

     

    Possession of a valid driver’s license or state identification card.

     

    Certification as a License Title Agent within one (1) year of employment. Failure to obtain certification within one (1) year will result in termination from the position.
