We ensure these facilities are safe, functional, and built for longevity. As part of our financial team, you will be a critical partner to project managers, architects, engineers, and agency leadership. You’ll help ensure each dollar is managed responsibly and transparently, supporting infrastructure that serves all Montanans. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ What You’ll Be Doing In the role of*Accounting & Budget Specialist*, you will: · Monitor and reconcile project budgets — ensuring alignment of planned vs. actuals. · Review and approve vendor invoices and manage accounts payable. · Record and reconcile project expenditures, encumbrances, and capital assets. · Support year-end closing, prepare audit schedules, and lead financial reporting processes. · Execute budget adjustments and ensure compliance with state statutes, internal controls, and policy. · Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and agency staff to support project financials. · Maintain accurate and auditable records in Montana’s accounting systems (e.g. SABHRS or equivalent). This role isn’t purely transactional — it gives you a voice in how we manage Montana’s built environment, ensuring accountability and stewardship with every project. Education & Experience Whether you’re just beginning your career or bring prior experience, we encourage you to apply.
