OVERVIEW:
Since 1946 Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) has delivered the VCS benefits to millions of Veterans enrolled in the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Healthcare system, the largest Healthcare system in the United States. VCS is a program office in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) that is Veteran-facing, providing America’s Veterans enrolled in VA’s Health Care System, their families, caregivers, and VA employees, with reasonably priced merchandise and services essential to their comfort and well-being.
The Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) located at the Jefferson Barracks VA Medical Center in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Program Support Assistant (Business to Business) in the Services Division. This position will report directly to the Chief of Services (Central Office). The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the decision process for product assortments, ensuring they are compelling, commercially viable, and support overall business objectives.
DUTIES:
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
Business Development Support: Assists in developing, coordinating, and executing B2B initiatives to enhance Veteran services and build partnerships with external organizations.
Vendor and Contract Management: Oversees vendor relationships and supplier contracts, evaluating pricing, quality, service, and reliability to ensure optimal performance.
Internal Collaboration and Support: Serves as the main point of contact for internal VA entities, identifying partnership opportunities and providing timely assistance.
Product and Marketing Coordination: Collaborates with the Marketing Department to source and promote products tailored to diverse customer needs.
Program Administration: Maintains program documentation, manages databases, and ensures timely processing of reports, invoices, and related records.
Compliance Oversight: Monitors adherence to regulations governing government funds, promotional funds, and incentive programs.
Order Management: Manages the Order Management System to ensure accurate entry of UPCs, vendor data, product descriptions, and pricing details.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
+ A current, valid REAL ID is required to work at Veterans Canteen Service.
+ Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Adobe applications is a plus.
+ Communication Skills: Demonstrates strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.
+ Judgment and Adaptability: Exhibits sound judgment and flexibility when handling situations without established guidance.
+ Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting demands.
+ Teamwork and Independence: Works effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
+ Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Applies strong analytical thinking to diagnose issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop effective solutions.
