    Sr. Marketing Director – Lung Pan Tumor

     

    About this Marketing Role

     

    The Marketing organization influences decisions by establishing and communicating our product value proposition across the full value chain, from payers, to health systems, to prescribers, to patients. Marketers are masterful storytellers - accountable to inform positioning using an insight-driven marketing strategy, deliver simple compelling customer-led content creation, and design outstanding integrated customer experiences in partnership with networked partners (e.g. Customer Engagement and Genentech Business Operations). Marketers strategically use resources and their network to drive patient outcomes for today’s innovations, and fuel tomorrow’s breakthroughs.

     

    This Senior Marketing Director is integral to successfully delivering the Therapeutic Area (TA) and Customer Marketing Vision for our Lung / Pan Tumor marketing team and for contributing to such across the Solid Tumor portfolio. This position leads the function and team responsible for strategic brand marketing of all Squad products in both their approved indications and future Lifecycle options. This position is a leader of leaders accountable for 4 currently marketed products across lung and GI cancers as well as a portfolio of pipeline assets.

     

    Key Job Responsibilities

    Business:

    + Serves as one of two Marketing Leads for the Squad with accountability to jointly develop and execute the Squad vision, meet long-term (3-5 year) and short-term (quarterly and annual) strategic goals for Lung Pan Tumor and Solid Tumor, and to have measurable impact on customer utilization and patient access.

    + Works with partners and the squad leader to set the business forecast and adjust as needed based on performance and market events in addition to managing the P&L.

    + Accountable for TA / Brand Strategy and Customer Strategy for key customer types, including associated execution

    + Responsible for long term capacity planning, enablement, project coaching and oversight of marketing team leads and is accountable for all aspects of Genentech’s people practices

    + Orients externally by regularly engaging with customers and industry organizations to ensure ongoing understanding of current market feedback and trends to be incorporated into strategies and tactics

    + Leads and contributes to the broader 1Marketing community at Genentech, participates in initiatives that have broad functional impact and / or impact across multiple therapeutic areas, offers functional expertise and supports capability development for the entire Marketing function, and advances progress towards our CMG outcomes.

    + Serves as the US commercial representative on one or more Global Lifecycle Teams and / or a Disease Area Commercialization Leadership Team and serves as a highly influential contributor to the goals and initiatives of these teams, including the shaping of development and commercial plans that serve U.S. market needs and maximize the value we bring to patients. This may also include closely shaping evaluation of Business Development opportunities within relevant disease areas.

    + Leads Marketing through a significant time of change setting vision and catalyzing teams to embrace data, analytics-driven, AI-enabled, and agile ways of working. Enables team to confidently adopt new technologies, adapt to change, and deliver greater customer value and patient impact.

    + Leads strong collaboration with Squad, Customer Engagement Ecosystems, US Medical, Functional and Development Partners to develop integrated value proposition, strategic business plan, including specific, measurable and action-oriented 90-day priorities that grow franchise profitability, patient uptake and customer expectations. Deftly enables re-prioritization as business needs, market events, and available resources change. Leads and role-models working with new techniques and tools on the leading edge of performance marketing

    + Contributes leadership skills, insights/knowledge and courage to embrace new approaches in order to help identify innovative priorities, plans and tactics that will help improve year-on-year brand adoption to maximize the number of patients who currently benefit from treatment.

    + Identifies, develops, implements and maintains an appropriate and aligned infrastructure of internal and external resources that are required to achieve the maximum level of customer satisfaction and enterprise best practice while maintaining a healthy P&L.

    + Represents the brand value proposition for all products in the assigned franchise(s) to others inside and outside of Genentech.

    Minimum** **Candidate Qualifications & Experience

    + Bachelor's degree

    + Ten years minimum work experience with 8 years of commercial experience (e.g. market access, marketing, sales or customer insights), 4 of which must be in a marketing role.

    Additional Desired** **Candidate Qualifications & Experience

    + MBA or other related graduate level degree preferred

    + Marketing experience in relevant industries

    + Experience in the managed care, Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry/pharmaceutical or biotech customer engagement

    + Experience in creating marketing strategies, plans and tactics that have strengthened market positioning and driven high-value customer and business outcomes

    + Prior experience working with and serving as an influential voice in global teams

    + Prior experience working on pipeline assets in multiple stages of drug development

    + Oncology experience

    + Customer-facing experience

    Location

    + This position is based in South San Francisco, CA

    + Relocation assistance is not available at this time.

     

    The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of CA is $222,500 - $413,300. **Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.** A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
