    As a **Senior VOIP Telecomm Design Engineer** you'll beresponsible for the strategic design, implementation, and maintenance of an IT Enterprise voice communication systems, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and scalable Voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure. This role requires expert-level knowledge of VoIP protocols, hardware, and software, and involves leading complex projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and serving as a technical subject matter expert to support and enhance the enterprise's voice and video communication solutions. Provides 24/7/365 remote operations of the ESD VOIP telecom systems. Provides remote initial contact support and first call resolution activities via telephone and digital communications VOIP telecom systems. Provides voice and digital initial contact support for all USACE IT related contacts

    Duties:

    + Monitor system performance, identify potential problems, and implement solutions to ensure high availability and reliability of voice services.

    + Collaborate with other IT teams, such as network, security, and systems engineering, to ensure seamless integration and interoperability.

    + Evaluate and recommend new voice technologies, solutions, and vendors to meet evolving business needs.

    + Provide technical leadership, guidance, and support to other team members and end-users.

    + Manage user accounts, permissions, and phone configurations within the VoIP system.

    + Develop and implement policies and standards for the VoIP environment.

    Location Requirement

     

    The successful candidate must be located within 50 miles of Vicksburg, MS.

     

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Database Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

    + Certified VOIP Analyst (CVA) or equivalent

    + 10 years of experience in telecomm management and implementation, with at least 5 years focused on VOIP in large-scale enterprise IT environments

    + Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be current and transferable)

    + Strong proficiency in database technologies (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and ITSM server management tools, with experience in proactive monitoring and patching

    + In-depth understanding of ITIL 4 practices, particularly for service operations and continual improvement

    + Excellent analytical skills for root cause analysis and optimization in high-stakes, regulated settings

    + U.S. Citizenship required due to federal contract obligations

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Database Administrator (or equivalent, e.g., Oracle DBA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator)

    + Experience supporting DoD or large federal customers, including database security hardening and ITSM integrations with enterprise systems

    + ITIL 4 Managing Professional (MP) certification or higher, with focus on service design and transition

    + Background in automation scripting (e.g., PowerShell, SQL scripts) for patch management and monitoring alerts

    + Master's degree in a relevant field or additional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security for secure database administration)

    + ITIL Found V4 certification

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $120000 - $204000

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
