• Data Integration Engineer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Data Integration Engineer with strong technical expertise in healthcare interoperability standards and integration platforms. This role will design, develop, and maintain robust, secure, and scalable interfaces within the InterSystems IRIS environment to enable seamless data exchange across enterprise systems. This person will build and deploy healthcare system interfaces using HL7 (v2/v3), FHIR, and secure file transfer (SFTP) within InterSystems IRIS. Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture requirements, perform gap analysis, and design integration solutions. Develop custom business logic and interface solutions using ObjectScript and IRIS core features. Lead small to mid-size projects for new interface implementations, upgrades, and SFTP configurations through testing and go-live. Proactively monitor integration systems for performance, error queues, and overall health to ensure high availability. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across integrated systems; participate in on-call rotation. Create and maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications, data flow diagrams, and testing protocols.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Strong experience with HL7 (v2/v3) and FHIR standards

     

    Proficiency in InterSystems IRIS or Ensemble integration engine

     

    Object-oriented programming experience (ObjectScript preferred)

     

    Familiarity with secure file transfer protocols (SFTP)

     

    Understanding of healthcare workflows and interoperability requirements

     

    Ability to analyze and resolve complex integration issues quickly Experience with other integration engines or middleware platforms

     

    Knowledge of additional healthcare standards (CCD, CDA, X12)

     

    Familiarity with cloud-based integration solutions

     

    Exposure to scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation

     

    Prior experience in leading projects or mentoring junior engineers
