Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Assistant Details
Essential Job Duties:
Assists with procedures performed on patients under the direction of a physician or APP and a licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
+ Prepares stress rooms for procedures
+ Interviews patients, measures vital signa such as pulse rate, pulse oxygen level, blood pressure, and records information in patient’s charts.
+ Position patients and equipment.
+ Cleans and disinfects equipment.
+ Inventory supplies
+ Preps and perform Treadmill stress tests for patients
+ Start IV’s and eventually run nuclear cameras
+ Safeguard the privacy of patient’s health information
+ Other related duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Completion of a Radiography or Health Science program.
+ Enrollment in an online Nuclear Medicine program within 6 months of employment to attain Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification.
+ Attend Nuclear Medicine clinicals required by online program.
+ Agreement to stay employed in the Union Health Cardiac Nuclear Medicine department for at least 2 years after graduating an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and passing either the NMTCB or ARRT(N) certification exam.
+ BCLS certification
+ Knowledge of medical terminology.
+ Ability to effectively communicate
+ Cardiac experience preferred.
