    Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2)

     

    Salary: $51,261

     

    The Department of Biological Sciences at Binghamton University (http://www.binghamton.edu/biology/) is seeking candidates for a full-time position as Instructional Support Associate, beginning Winter 2025.

    Duties include but are not limited to:

    + Preparing materials and bacterial cultures for microbiology laboratory courses

    + Ordering supplies needed for the microbiology laboratory courses

    + Providing instructional support and assistance for microbiology laboratory courses

    + Working with teaching assistants to familiarize them with the protocols and instrumentation used in the microbiology laboratory courses

    + Setting up, cleaning and maintaining assigned instructional laboratory spaces

    + Maintaining assigned laboratory equipment

    + Assisting with microbiology course development

    + Supervising potential work study students assisting in lab preparation.

    Job Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Biology or a related field

    + Training or experience in microbiology

    + Demonstrated experience with microbiology techniques and instrumentation

    + Effective organizational and written/verbal communication skills

    + Comfortable working with a diverse group of people

    Preferred:

    + Master's degree (or higher)

    + Work experience at the college level

    + Experience in assisting in teaching laboratory courses
