Position Overview
We're seeking an innovative Senior Product Manager to support innovation and acceleration initiatives across our product portfolio, with some likely focus on AI related features. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with product management execution and a coaching mindset. You'll run sprints with internal teams and start-ups, build prototypes and features with engineering teams, also helping develop business cases and integration roadmaps. This role requires flexibility between hands-on execution with practitioner credibility as well as coaching, facilitation and teaching of colleagues on product management practices, discovery, technical modernisation, and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
AI & Technical Product Delivery
+ Run sprints with internal and external engineering teams, to drive AI innovation and rapid experimentation with a data driven, learning hungry mindset
+ Build working product prototypes and features in collaboration with engineering teams
+ Develop compelling business cases and integration roadmaps for AI initiatives
+ Help teams solve complex technical challenges and drive modernisation efforts
Product Management Excellence
+ Coach teams on product management best practices, discovery methods, and ways of working
+ Facilitate discovery sessions and help teams integrate discovery into their backlogs, helping teams manage parallel tracks of discovery and execution
+ Guide teams in developing high-quality MRDs, PRDs, and refining work into shippable iterations
+ Flex between hands-on execution and coaching to build team capabilities
Collaboration & Enablement
+ Embed into business units to support customer-centric roadmaps and strategic planning
+ Role model interactions with engineering, design and other stakeholders
+ Help enable the change to new ways of working and practices that make a difference
Process & Practice Development
+ Help teams refine work into reasonable chunks and maintain effective backlogs
+ Support continuous process improvement and practice optimization
+ Identify and implement practices to optimize product development cycles
Required Qualifications
+ 5/6+ years of product management experience with demonstrable technical and/or AI/ML exposure
+ Strong technical background or proven ability to work effectively with engineering teams
+ Track record shipping technical products and building prototypes
+ Experience with agile methodologies and running product sprints, with a strongly data driven mindset
+ Understanding of implementation of AI/ML technologies and modern product development practices
+ Excellent coaching and communication skills with ability to influence without authority
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with generative AI, LLMs, or emerging AI technologies
+ Background working with startups, innovation teams, or in fast-paced environments
+ Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
+ Experience in learning technologies or educational product development
+ Strong analytical and conceptual problem-solving capabilities

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York State, New York City, Vermont, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $150,000 - $180,000.
