Job Title: Business Analyst – Process Optimization
**Location:** 100% Remote
**Type:** Contract (12 months, possible conversion)
**Pay Rate:** $55/hr on W2
Position Overview
We are seeking a **skilled Business Analyst** to join our **Process Optimization team** and drive strategic improvements across organizational operations. This role serves as a **critical liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams** , partnering closely with the **Solution Architect** to identify, evaluate, and prioritize process optimization opportunities.
The successful candidate will conduct **comprehensive project intake assessments** to determine which processes qualify for optimization initiatives, ensuring **maximum impact and sustainable improvements** in operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Project Intake and Assessment
+ Conduct thorough project intake sessions with business units and operational leaders
+ Evaluate and vet processes to determine qualification for process optimization initiatives
+ Develop comprehensive problem statements and scope definitions for proposed projects
+ Assess project feasibility, complexity, and alignment with organizational strategic objectives
Data Gathering and Analysis
+ Collect and analyze quantitative and qualitative data on current-state processes
+ Document existing workflows, pain points, and performance metrics
+ Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
+ Gather stakeholder requirements and define success criteria for optimization projects
Business Case Development
+ Calculate ROI projections and perform cost-benefit analyses for proposed optimization projects
+ Identify and articulate intangible benefits, including employee satisfaction, customer experience, and operational quality improvements
+ Develop compelling business cases to secure stakeholder buy-in and resource allocation
+ Present findings and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams
Stakeholder Collaboration
+ Partner with the **Director of Process Optimization** and **Solution Architect** to align improvement strategies with business requirements
+ Facilitate workshops and interviews with business stakeholders, process owners, and operational leaders
+ Coordinate with **Process Mining** and **Automation** teams to ensure an integrated approach to improvements
+ Serve as the primary liaison between business operations and process optimization initiatives
Documentation and Reporting
+ Create detailed process documentation, requirements specifications, and project charters
+ Maintain project intake pipeline and status reporting for leadership visibility
+ Develop standardized templates and frameworks for consistent project evaluation
+ Track and report on project outcomes and performance metrics
Required Qualifications
Experience
+ 3–5 years of business analysis experience with demonstrated success in process improvement
+ Proven track record of working with operational workflows, business processes, and performance optimization
+ Experience with project intake processes and business case development
+ Background in continuous improvement methodologies and implementation
Education and Certifications
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred in **Business Administration** , **Industrial Engineering** , **Operations Management** , or a related field
+ **Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt** certification preferred
+ **Business Analysis** certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA) a plus
+ **Project Management** certifications (PMP, CAPM) preferred
Technical Skills
+ Proficiency in **process mapping** and **workflow documentation tools** (Visio, Lucidchart, or similar)
+ Advanced **Excel** skills for data analysis and financial modeling
+ Experience with **project management tools** and methodologies
+ Familiarity with **business intelligence** and reporting tools
+ Knowledge of **data analysis** and **statistical methods**
Core Competencies
+ Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex information
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills for diverse stakeholder audiences
+ Process improvement expertise with an understanding of operational workflows and efficiency drivers
+ Change management experience with the ability to drive adoption of process improvements
+ Collaborative approach with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with **Lean methodology** and continuous improvement initiatives in corporate environments
+ Knowledge of **Operational Excellence frameworks** and performance improvement methodologies
+ Familiarity with **process mining tools** and data-driven process analysis
+ Experience with **automation assessment** and **RPA opportunity identification**
+ Background in **business consulting** or **process optimization roles**
+ Experience in **financial services** , **manufacturing** , or other **process-intensive industries**
