Job Description:
We are seeking an EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) Engineer with 0-2 years of experience in construction safety, EHS, or related field (internships or co-op experience considered). Candidates should have Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience). This company specializes in material handling systems in multiple markets including, airports, parcel, food and beverage, and warehousing & distribution.

Responsibilities:
+ Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and verify compliance with company policies, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety requirements
+ Support the development and implementation of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Safe Work Plans, and Toolbox Talks
+ Monitor construction activities (e.g., scaffolding, excavation, crane operations, hot work) to ensure safe work practices are being followed
+ Assist in incident investigations, including documentation, root cause analysis, and corrective actions
+ Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, permits, and compliance documentation
+ Provide onboarding and orientation training for new employees and subcontractors
+ Promote a positive safety culture by engaging with workers and encouraging safe behaviors
+ Support senior EHS staff in implementing site-specific safety programs and corrective action plans
+ Assist with environmental compliance activities, such as waste management, stormwater controls, and air quality requirements, as needed
Qualifications:
+ 0-2 years of experience in construction safety, EHS, or related field
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Construction Management, or related field
+ Basic knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards
+ Strong observational and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn safety management software
+ Key Competencies Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
+ Ability to adapt to changing site conditions and priorities
+ Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
+ Commitment to fostering a safe and compliant work environment
Nice-to-Haves:
+ OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
+ CPR/First Aid certification preferred

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aurora, CO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.06/hr.
