    Job Title: Manufacturing Safety EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Safety Engineer who is passionate about rockets and aerospace. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently, manage projects with a focus on priority, and effectively communicate across various functions. High-level documentation skills and the ability to easily take direction to get work done are essential.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage projects with a priority mindset and work independently.

    + Communicate effectively across functions to ensure safety and compliance.

    + Document processes and maintain detailed records for compliance and safety audits.

    + Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate safety and operational protocols.

    + Handle, process, and dispose of hazardous materials, focusing on residual propellant.

    + Maintain mechanical components, controls, and electrical systems associated with incinerator equipment.

    + Create, maintain, and update detailed maintenance logs, risk assessments, and compliance records.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing safety engineering.

    + Bachelor of Engineering, preferably in Mechanical or Aerospace.

    + Proficiency in handling hazardous materials with a focus on residual propellant.

    + Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations.

    + Understanding of combustion dynamics and the nuances of burning propellant-laden materials.

    + Experience with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of high-temperature combustion systems.

    + Basic knowledge of instrumentation and automation systems.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in process improvement and lean manufacturing.

    + Ability to perform safety training and compliance audits.

    + Understanding of health and safety engineering and safety management.

    Work Environment

    This position is based onsite at the McHenry location, working with the RMS group. Candidates must be comfortable with a fully onsite work setup, as no remote or hybrid options are available.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Henry, MS.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $86.00/hr.
