Collections Analyst
Job Description
The Collections Analyst is responsible for engaging with customers to secure timely payments and resolve any concerns. This role involves identifying and correcting billing discrepancies, managing account portfolios, and maintaining account currency. The analyst will also detect and resolve cash application errors, investigate chargeback deductions, and handle special projects to contribute to process improvements. Collaboration with internal teams and customers is vital to provide effective solutions.
Responsibilities
+ Contact clients via phone or email to ensure timely payments and resolve concerns.
+ Identify and correct billing discrepancies.
+ Proactively manage account portfolios to reduce past-due balances and maintain account currency.
+ Detect and resolve cash application errors.
+ Investigate and resolve chargeback deductions.
+ Handle special projects and contribute to process improvements.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and customers to provide effective solutions.
+ Issue and distribute invoices.
+ Process new contracts and sales.
+ Collaborate with other departments to ensure billing accuracy.
+ Address customer complaints and questions.
Essential Skills
+ Strong accounting skills with proficiency in invoicing, data entry, and billing systems.
+ Proficiency in Excel, including formulas.
+ Accuracy and attention to detail in accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliation, collection, and bookkeeping.
+ A minimum of 3 years of collections experience in a high-volume setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant work experience.
+ Willingness to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
Work Environment
The role is based in a corporate office and requires working five days a week in the office. The work hours are flexible, starting as early as 7 am or as late as 8:30 am, with a 40-hour work week. Employees can choose between a half-hour or hour lunch break. There is an option to work nine-hour days from Monday to Thursday and leave at noon on Fridays, provided the 40-hour requirement is met.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $25.00/hr.
