The Direct Support Personnel I assists individuals withintellectual disabilities or mental health challenges with growth anddevelopment of interpersonal skills and activities of daily living in the home,community or residential setting. The Direct Support Personnel I works directlywith the resident and provides supports for activities of daily living andadaptive skills. The Direct Support Personnel I should follow the guidance ofthe resident/ patients Individual Service Plan.
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School diploma or its equivalent
+ Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health Certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
+ Demonstrates ability to prioritize tasks
Duties:
+ Implement Individual Service Plans (ISP): Support individuals in developing personal independence and skills according to their specific plan.
+ Assist with daily living: Help with daily tasks, personal hygiene, and medication management.
+ Provide transfers: Assist with weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing transfers for individuals who need it.
+ Ensure safety: Maintain a safe and secure home environment for the individuals supported.
+ Community integration: Help individuals access the community and participate in social activities.
Schedule:
AM, PM, NOC Shifts
8 hour shifts
Rotating weekends + Holidays Required
$22/hour
Must have at least 1 year of experience working with special needs individuals.
