Special Education Teacher – Multiple Openings
Grade Levels:
+ 1 Post-High School opportunity
+ 3 Elementary opportunities
Caseload: Typically 7–8 students per classroom
Classroom Support: Paraprofessionals assigned to each room
Schedule: ASAP – End of School Year
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
We are seeking 4 compassionate and collaborative Special Education Teachers to join our team in Burbank, IL. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs in both elementary and post-high school settings. You’ll work alongside paraprofessionals and general education staff to deliver individualized instruction and support that fosters academic growth and personal development.
Role Overview:
Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, the Special Education Teacher provides high-quality services to students in kindergarten through grade 12. This role involves active participation in planning and implementing student programs, including specialized instruction, tutorial assistance, and consultation with general education staff.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Deliver individualized instruction based on student IEPs
+ Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff
+ Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
+ Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and growth
+ Support students in developing academic, social, and life skills
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid Illinois teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations
+ Minimum of one year of teaching experience (preferred)
+ Illinois State Teacher Certification (preferred):
+ Standard Elementary Teaching
+ Standard Secondary Teaching
+ Standard Special Teaching
+ Learning Behavior Specialist/LBS1 Endorsement (required)
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
