    Senior Principal Cybersecurity Engineer CSO

    PURPOSE

    This role is responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the controls that protect Bayer's computer networks, systems, and data from cyberattacks. As a Sr. Principal Cyber Security Engineer, you will work closely with IT teams to identify, assess, and mitigate security risks. You will also collaborate with IT Service Management (ITSM) to ensure operational continuity and with the cyber incident response team to contain the damage from security incidents and prevent future attacks. This is a global role that plays a critical part in ensuring the security and resilience of Bayer's systems and data.

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibilities of this role, Sr. Principal Cyber Security Engineer, are to:

     

    + Operate cybersecurity solutions for Bayer's systems and products in compliance with Bayer's applicable security policies and standards;

    + Collaborate with IT and internal and external business partners to ensure security is integrated into the evaluation, selection, installation, and configuration processes of hardware and software;

    + Maintain operational efficiency, performance, and reliability of security systems, integrating them into IT service management and incident response processes;

    + Analyze and recommend improvements to network, system, and application architectures;

    + Assist in the review and update of cybersecurity policies, architectures, and standards;

    + Respond to audits, penetration tests, and vulnerability assessments;

    + Conduct regular security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential risks;

    + Align with Cyber Security Architects to ensure security architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices are implemented into technology;

    + Lead the cyber operations chapter on best practices related to Cyber Security Platforms, independent of reporting lines;

    + Foster collaboration across the operations team members and coach team members to continuously learn and evolve aligned to the VACC leadership model;

    + Own the development, maintenance, approval, and publishing of relevant operational SOPs, procedures, and necessary training, including but not limited to 24/7 on-call recovery activities and operational dashboards;

    + Manage the Cyber Major Incident (MI) process and execution;

    + Act as the point of contact for operations incident response within the scope of cyber security capabilities delivered through Cyber Security Foundations (CSF);

    + Ensure operational stability across all CSF platforms and report on operational compliance for managed service providers in relation to cyber security topics;

    + Represent CSF to the IT Chief Operations Office (COO) and associated committees/councils.

    + The primary location for this role is Creve Coeur, MO.

    + Visa sponsorship may be offered for this role.

    WHO YOU ARE

    Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

    Required Qualifications:

    + 15+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, IT Security, or a related field;

    + Expert-level knowledge in IT security operations setup and processes;

    + Comprehensive expertise in all aspects of a large enterprise environment, including but not limited to Network, Operating Systems, Cloud Infrastructure, and Middleware, as well as a solid understanding of enterprise applications;

    + Solid experience with IT Service Management platforms and a clear understanding of ITIL processes such as Incident Management;

    + Proven ability to identify, measure, and report performance metrics in a form that is easily consumable by senior IT Leadership;

    + Ability to work individually, in teams, or direct without formal reporting lines and lead the work of others in an organized and structured manner under varying levels of stress;

    + High degree of self-learning and self-motivation;

    + Capability to conduct risk assessments in case of operational incidents and effectively steer implementation;

    + Strong command of the English and German languages, both verbal and written.

    + Experience working under high levels of stress;

    + Proven ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team and foster collaboration.

    Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $184,832 to $277,249. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).
