    Job Description

    We are seeking an exceptional Analytics Engineer & SQL Guru who combines deep technical mastery with analytical thinking. You will design and optimize data systems that not only answer business questions — but produce actionable insights no one thought to ask. This role blends hands-on SQL and data modeling with storytelling and decision influence. You’ll transform raw data into clarity, uncover patterns hidden in plain sight, and help shape critical business strategies through insight.

     

    The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

    Basic Qualifications

    Master's degree in data and technology management, or equivalent work experience

     

    Ten or more years of experience in data management and business intelligence in the financial services industry

    Preferred Skills/Experience

    Outstanding data analysis and critical-thinking skills — ability to find the “story in the data”

     

    Analytics & business alignment converts fuzzy questions into precise, production-ready SQL metrics (clear grain/filters/denominators); builds time-series analyses (sessionization, cohorts, funnels, retention) and point-in-time SCD lookups that match business definitions.

     

    Expert-level SQL Craft (Oracle preferred) with proven experience in - complex querying, query tuning and performance optimization

     

    Strong data modeling and data architecture expertise (conceptual, logical, physical models)

     

    Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas, data validation)

     

    Ability to answer questions that haven’t been asked — proactive insight generation

     

    Excellent communication skills — can translate analytical findings into compelling narratives

     

    Strong organizational and analytical skills

    The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $126,820.00 - $149,200.00
