    Nurse Practitioner, Inpatient Pain Team

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Providing care to infants, children, adolescents, young adults with pain from acute and chronic illnesses or those weaning sedatives after a recent critical illness in the inpatient setting.

    + Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to conduct patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams and develop a plan of care based on the source of pain and patient needs.

    + Facilitating collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary team and other consulting services to provide comprehensive care for optimal patient outcomes.

    + Participating in quality and safety initiatives and research.

    + Providing consultation and education to staff members, patients and families as needed on pertinent topics

    + 36 hours per week, less than 50% day/night rotation, 12 hour shifts, with every 4th weekend

    Minimum Qualifications

    Education:

    + A Master’s Degree in Nursing

    Experience:

    + 3-5 years’ experience in a pediatric setting, ideally with a pediatric intensive care background

    + Excellent critical thinking and communication skills are required

    Licensure/ Certifications:

    + A current MA NP license

    + BLS and PALS certification

    **Sign-on bonus of $4,500.00 for part-time (36 hours) APP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
