Our client, a leading organization in facility management and building operations, is seeking an Operating Engineer to join their team. As an Operating Engineer , you will be part of the Facilities Operations Department supporting the Maintenance and Engineering team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills, proactive problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Operating Engineer
**Location:** Cambridge, MA
**Pay Range:** $37/h-$39/hr. based on experience
Work Shift: Monday-Friday 6:00 am -2:00 pm; On Call as needed
What's the Job?
+ Operate and maintain essential building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and temperature controls
+ Respond to system alarms and troubleshoot issues using Building Automation Systems (BAS) and manufacturer standards
+ Conduct regular building rounds, document engineering logs, and perform routine inspections
+ Perform maintenance and repairs on steam systems, humidifiers, and steam traps to ensure optimal operation
+ Support contractor activities, respond to facility emergencies, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
What's Needed?
+ High School diploma or GED
+ 2nd Class Fireman's License for the state of Massachusetts
+ Minimum of 1 year of facility-related work experience
+ Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and CMMS tools
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work at heights using ladders or stairs
