    We are seeking a Metals/Materials Lab Technician to join our materials characterization lab within the semiconductor manufacturing industry. The Technician I will support laboratory and technical teams by preparing samples, conducting tests, analyzing data, processing products, and aiding in project support. This role is pivotal in achieving production and engineering objectives. This role is for the 2nd shift, operating from 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare samples and process products according to guidelines.

    + Set up equipment, assemblies, and experiments as required.

    + Collect data following work instructions or experimental plans.

    + Prepare reports containing data and analysis.

    + Support senior technicians and engineers in project execution.

    + Adhere to all safety requirements and communicate identified risks for resolution.

    + Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment by completing all 5S standards.

    + Ensure regular and reliable attendance.

    + Contribute positively to the company culture by aligning with values and the code of conduct.

    + Communicate effectively and professionally with team members.

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanically inclined with a proficiency in using power tools.

    + Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    + Ability to keep detailed notes and manage well-organized data.

    + Capability to lift and move up to 40 pounds routinely.

    + Able to stand and walk for extended periods.

    + Frequent bending and twisting abilities.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma required.

    + Previous lab experience, particularly in a characterization lab, is advantageous.

    + Experience in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is beneficial.

    + Familiarity with shop equipment such as grinders, lathes, and mills.

    + Background in mechanical fields, materials sciences, metallurgy, metallography, or composites is preferred.

    Work Environment

    This role is for the 2nd shift, operating from 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday. Initial training will occur on the 1st shift from 7am-3:30pm for approximately 2-3 months. Technicians work with power tools, polishing equipment, and handle acids and solvents in an ISO14001/ISO9001 certified environment. The team consists of 8-10 lab technicians and 2-3 engineers. The laboratory focuses on characterizing the microstructure and physical properties of products using various methods such as optical and scanning electron microscopy, electron backscatter diffraction, and tensile testing.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, OH.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
