Cable Assembler - Miramar - 9x80 Work Schedule - $23/hr
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Cable Assembler to join our team, responsible for assembling fiber optic cables and wire harnesses. You will work at your own station with the necessary tools, tasked with completing daily and weekly assignments. Your role will also include assembling and testing the performance of manufactured cables and sub-assemblies.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mechanical assembly of small equipment, including alignment and assembly of component parts using hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fixtures.
+ Interpret and work from electromechanical schematics, drawings, work instructions, and bills of material.
+ Mount complex assembled components requiring manual dexterity and work with hand tools, light soldering equipment, volt meters, and other test instrumentation.
+ Connect component lead wires to printed circuits and route and connect wires between components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
+ Position and align parts in specified relationships using jigs, fixtures, or other holding devices.
+ Crimp, stake, screw, bolt, rivet, weld, solder, cement, press fit, or perform similar operations to secure parts.
+ Use automated cable test equipment and multimeter for testing.
+ Inspect parts and perform basic tests, recording and documenting work on production records and logs.
+ Route and lace cables, install components and parts, and attach hardware to complete assemblies.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with crimping, soldering, blueprint reading, wiring, and cable assembly.
+ Minimum of 2 years of previous cable assembly experience.
+ Ability to work with wire gauges from 24 to 00.
+ Knowledge of IPC-A-610 (Acceptance) and IPC-WHMA-A-650 (Cable and Wire Harness).
+ Experience with through-hole and surface mount soldering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Working knowledge of IPC standards.
+ Experience working under a microscope for soldering is a plus.
+ Knowledge of reworking defective parts is a plus.

Work Environment
The position operates on a 9/80 schedule: Monday to Thursday from 7:15 AM to 4:45 PM, with every other Friday off. On working Fridays, hours are from 7:15 AM to 3:45 PM, with potential opportunities for overtime. The company has a small team structure, fostering interaction with various roles, from engineers to the company president.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
