Job Title: Procurement SpecialistJob Description
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for procuring goods and services for the organization, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery. This role involves reviewing purchase requisitions, identifying suppliers, soliciting bids, negotiating terms, generating purchase orders, and monitoring order status. The Procurement Specialist also resolves supplier issues, maintains relationships, and evaluates supplier performance. Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors is essential.
Responsibilities
+ Review and process purchase requisitions to meet organizational needs.
+ Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
+ Solicit bids and negotiate terms to achieve the best value for the organization.
+ Generate purchase orders and monitor order status for timely delivery.
+ Resolve any supplier issues and maintain strong supplier relationships.
+ Evaluate supplier performance to ensure compliance with company standards.
+ Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to optimize procurement processes.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to evaluate supplier proposals and negotiate terms and pricing.
+ Knowledge of procurement methods and generating purchase orders.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for tracking orders and managing data.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
+ 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or a related role.
+ Experience with procurement software or ERP systems (preferred).
+ Familiarity with contract management and supply chain logistics (preferred).
+ Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
Work Environment
The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, within a collaborative procurement team focused on delivering value through strategic sourcing and supplier partnerships. This is a Contract position based out of Reno, NV.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
