• Part-Time Meteorologist

    WPHL-TV in Philadelphia, PA is looking for a Freelance Meteorologist to produce and present the weather for the station's newscasts. The part time position will provide vacation and sick time relief for the stations full time meteorologist. This is a part time position.

    Primary Responsibilities

    + Formulate weather forecast utilizing modeling data during PHL17 Morning News and for station cut-ins

    + Create computer graphics & animation for presentation of weather data

    + This position may occasionally be called on to provide reports for other newscasts.

    + Provide forecast information to the station’s internet website, closed captioning, social media, 7-day web forecast, ticker and other enterprises as required.

    + Sit on desk with other anchors to react to stories. Ability to ad lib during both breaking news situations, and for lighter talk segments.

    + Interact with guests both live in studio and live on location in the field

    + Involvement in community events as directed by the station

    Requirements:

    + Degree in Meteorology, Mass Communications with demonstrated weather experience or equivalent experience as a television weather caster.

    + Demonstrated knowledge and application of WSI/IBM weather software in a medium to large television market.

    + Experience utilizing National Weather Service data in forecasts.

    + Demonstrated on air weather presentation skills.

    + Ability to conduct remote and in-studio guest segments/interviews
