Position Purpose:
Performs ultrasonography procedures including vascular and general sonography for patients as ordered by the physician and provides diagnostic exams and communications for radiologist’s interpretation. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.
What you will Do:
Prepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.
Collects history data from patient and provides patient education.
Provides patient cares in accordance with department policy.
Performs ultrasound procedure.
Provides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.
Performs sonograms and documents and communicates findings to radiologist.
Performs doppler/color flow diagnostic studies and is able to accurately measure velocities and frequency shifts.
Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:
Birth-28 days: Neonate
1-18 Months: Infant
18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler
3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged
6-12 Yrs: School-Aged
12-18 Yrs: Adolescents
18-65 Yrs: Adults
65+ Yrs: Geriatrics
Hours/Schedule:
_Full Time_
_Hours 10:00pm to 6:00am; shift differential offered._
Minimum** **Qualifications:
Must be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
Registered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
If not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
Maintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME’s every 3 yrs/annual payment)
Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
