    We are seeking a dedicated Animal Care Technician to join our team. The role involves receiving and inspecting incoming products, ensuring they are labeled and stored correctly, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The position requires clear communication with management, colleagues, and suppliers/vendors, as well as a commitment to punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will perform cleaning and maintenance tasks within the vivarium, ensuring a high standard of hygiene and functionality.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive and inspect incoming products, report any discrepancies promptly.

    + Label and store all products and PPE in designated locations.

    + Communicate professionally with management, colleagues, and suppliers/vendors.

    + Follow instructions carefully and seek clarification when needed.

    + Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and attention to detail.

    + Clean cages, equipment, water bottles, and food containers in the vivarium.

    + Perform janitorial maintenance of vivarium rooms and restock supplies.

    + Conduct preventative maintenance of vivarium equipment and supplies.

    + Complete monthly sanitization of vivarium equipment and facilities.

    + Maintain accurate records of supplies and equipment, restocking as necessary.

    + Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in cleaning and sterilization processes.

    + Knowledge of animal husbandry, particularly with mice.

    + Experience in inventory management.

    + Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and lab safety protocols.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or equivalent technical certificate required.

    + Minimum of one year of experience in animal care preferred.

    Work Environment

    The work environment consists of several vivariums, each with its own team. The candidate should be a good team player, familiar with SOPs, and capable of learning lab safety procedures. The position involves working with a team of 10-12 members on a first shift, starting as early as 5 am. Flexibility for overtime, weekend, and holiday work is required as the role is considered essential personnel. The job is full-time, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for growth and career advancement.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
