Job Title: Hydraulic Test EngineerJob Description
The Hydraulic Test Engineer performs various laboratory assignments primarily involving hydraulic test stands, as well as electrical applications, electronics, instrumentation, and calibrations. This role is essential in developing testing procedures to replicate real-world applications, supporting the Fluid Care Center. The engineer will provide valuable insights during new and existing product testing, working closely on the development of new products from concept through design, testing, and introduction. Post-commercial introduction support is also required, alongside evaluating, improving, and certifying any new products for production.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and implement testing procedures for product evaluations.
+ Provide engineering support for new product design and modification of existing products.
+ Create and review essential documents such as SOPs, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
+ Assist in the design of new tooling, fixtures, test equipment, and prototype components.
+ Conduct fluid analysis tests, including particle counting and viscosity measurements.
+ Understand and conduct multi-pass testing per ISO standards.
+ Perform or assist in client tours, training, and troubleshooting in the lab or at client facilities.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanical testing
+ Proficiency with SolidWorks and FEA analysis
+ Experience in troubleshooting and LabView
+ Knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, schematic designs, assembly, and wiring
+ Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSME, BSIE, BSc, or BSEE)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD systems
+ Experience in the fluid power industry or manufacturing environment
+ Knowledge of ERP software, with SAP as a plus
+ Familiarity with project management and hydraulic/electrical schematics
+ Understanding or willingness to learn data acquisition software like LabView
Work Environment
The position requires working onsite five days a week, utilizing advanced technologies and equipment. The work is conducted in a laboratory setting, necessitating adherence to safety and engineering standards. The role may involve occasional client interactions and facility tours.
