    Work Schedule: Variable

    Summary:

    Imaging Nursing/PICC team, MRI, Ultrasound, and Vascular Testing. Has the ability to: contribute to the long-term growth and viability of Northern Light Health; ensure high-quality, cost-effective patient care; address issues of customer satisfaction and human resources management. Actively participates on hospital wide committees applicable to their department(s). Must possess visual acuity, hearing acuity, verbal skills, and command of the English language necessary to communicate with patients, families, physicians, external agencies and staff at all levels in the organization. Must possess manual dexterity necessary for administrative tasks such as preparing reports and departmental budgets and managing quality improvement plan. Ability to communicate in an effective and hospitable manner in person and by phone. Flexibility with work hours and activities in response to unit needs. Ability to learn basic computer skills, to identify own learning needs, to work independently, to recognize need for assistance and seek it in a timely manner, to prioritize work responsibilities and work efficiently in the face of a variety of every changing request and demands on time. Ability to build supportive relationships with co-workers and evaluate performance of staff members. Ability to adapt to change and modify staff behaviors to meet all regulatory requirements, to adjust staffing to workflow and acuity needs of department, to follow-up or initiate disciplinary actions with goal of changing negative behaviors.

     

    + Graduate from an accredited school of Radiography with current licensure in Maine or ARDMS certification or Registered Nurse required.

    + Bachelor's degree (or commensurate experience) in relevant field.

    Responsibilities:

    + Clearly, effectively and respectfully communicates with patients, families, physicians, employees and peers.

    + Responds to patient generated concerns.

    + Responds effectively to patient complaints

    + Uses a constructive consistent approach in the oversight of staff, in providing feedback on the delivery of patient care and in the maintenance of positive interdepartmental relationships

    + Ability to generate effective staff responses to needs identified via patient satisfaction scores and feedback

    + Able to manage physician needs to expedite patient care

    + Provides follow-up on patient, family and physician complaints

    + Develops and maintains positive working relationships and working environment

    + Ensures that scheduling of staff is completed timely, efficiently and meets the staffing requirements of the unit.

    + Provides timely performance appraisals

    + Interviews and hires staff

    + Counsels and disciplines staff and monitors corrective action/performance improvement when required

    + Defines the qualifications and performance expectations for all staff positions

    + Ensures the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained demonstrated and continually improved

    + Verbalizes understanding and demonstrates compliance with HR Policies

    + Adheres to job description and established performance standards

    + Serves as a resource to all members of the health care team

    + Completes assigned or requested tasks in a timely, efficient manner

    + Actively works to creatively problem solve to meet service and program needs (patient, family, staff, and physician)

    + Provides direct patient care as needed

    + Ensures educational opportunities for staff

    + Supports the mission and vision of Northern Light Health

    + Communicates the organization's Strategic Plan to staff

    + Able to cover for departmental Clinical Operations Manager and Director as necessary
