    Responsibilities

    Job Summary

    The Quality Inspector Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Quality Inspection and Receiving Inspection Teams to ensure products, processes, and documentation comply with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), customer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.

     

    This leadership role provides guidance, training, and support to inspectors, while driving consistency in inspection practices, ensuring timely final product release, and promoting continuous improvement. The Supervisor collaborates closely with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues, supports audits, and fosters a culture of compliance and excellence.

    Team Leadership & Oversight

    + Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily work of Quality Inspectors.

    + Provide training, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.

    + Ensure inspectors follow established inspection procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.

    + Conduct regular team meetings to align on priorities, updates, and quality objectives.

    Operational Responsibilities

    + Oversee and review final product release activities, including batch records, product documentation, and MES eDHRs.

    + Ensure accurate and timely review of routers, records, and other documentation for compliance and completeness.

    + Monitor incoming inspection and testing activities to ensure adherence to specifications.

    + Support escalations for non-conformances and lead initial investigations where needed.

    Compliance & Continuous Improvement

    + Ensure inspection activities meet regulatory and internal requirements (ISO 13485, FDA, etc.).

    + Maintain and audit inspection records for accuracy, traceability, and readiness for regulatory review.

    + Collaborate with engineering and operations to identify trends, drive root cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

    + Participate in management reviews by compiling inspection metrics and team performance data.

    + Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inspection efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.

    Cross-Functional Support

    + Partner with production, supply chain, and engineering to resolve quality issues quickly and effectively.

    + Support internal and external audits, serving as the inspection subject matter expert.

    + Assist in system integration, process changes, and new product introductions as they impact inspection activities.

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications

    + University Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required.

    + 4+ years of experience in quality inspection or quality assurance in a regulated industry (medical device preferred).

    Preferred Qualifications

    Qualifications

    + 2+ years in a leadership, supervisory, or lead inspector role.

    + Strong knowledge of quality system standards (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA regulations, GMP).

    + Experience with MES and electronic DHR systems preferred.

    + Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and quality documents.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

    + Excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
