Brief Position Overview
As a member of the Development and Membership team, and in collaboration with other museum staff, the Campaign Manager will coordinate all aspects of the Museum of the Rockies’ campaign. This includes managing campaign operations and timelines, drafting and editing campaign communications, and preparing materials for donor engagement. The campaign manager will help prepare senior museum staff for engagement with key prospects and donors and will sometimes also engage directly with these prospects and donors. Beyond the campaign, the Campaign Manager will help strengthen the museum’s overall fundraising program by supporting major gifts, refining donor systems, and stewarding relationships that sustain MOR’s development success. The Campaign Manager will ensure that campaign activities are well-organized, deadlines are met, and museum leadership has the tools and information needed to inspire generosity and achieve campaign goals.

Position Details
General Statement
Reporting to the Director of Development & Membership, this position serves as the central point of coordination for the campaign while also contributing to the museum’s broader fundraising strategy. The Campaign Manager will oversee campaign systems and processes, track and report on progress, prepare donor and committee briefings, and ensure consistent communication across all campaign activities. In addition, the Campaign Manager will collaborate with colleagues on major gift cultivation and stewardship, manage select development operations, and develop tools that will outlast the campaign and position MOR for continued growth. This position is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values collaboration, and is motivated by the opportunity to help secure transformational support for one of the Northern Rockies most iconic cultural institutions.
Duties and Responsibilities
With regards to campaign operations:
+ Coordinate and monitor campaign timelines, ensuring tasks and milestones are achieved on schedule.
+ Support the Campaign Committee and Board of Trustees by preparing meeting agendas, materials, and follow-up documentation.
+ Draft, edit, and proof campaign-related communications, including proposals, reports, and donor correspondence.
+ Maintain the campaign calendar, ensuring alignment across cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
+ Track progress toward campaign goals and prepare regular reports for leadership, volunteers, and the Board.
+ Partner with staff and external collaborators to manage campaign collateral, including presentations, talking points, donor recognition lists, and other materials.
+ Assist with the planning and execution of campaign-related events, cultivation opportunities, and donor visits.
With regards to broader development support:
+ Contribute to moves management by preparing donor research, briefing memos, and follow-up notes.
+ Partner with development staff on major gift cultivation and stewardship, including proposal support and acknowledgment processes.
+ Collaborate with staff to ensure accurate and timely entry of pledges and gifts into the donor database.
+ Generate reports and dashboards to track donor engagement, pledges, payments, and overall progress.
+ Support stewardship by maintaining recognition listings, impact reporting, and donor communications.
+ Help design systems, templates, and best practices that strengthen the development program beyond the life of the campaign.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a field relevant to the position and/or work environment or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
+ Experience in campaign or fundraising.
+ Exceptional English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire confidence and motivate giving from varied audiences.
+ Experience composing, editing and formatting business correspondence with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
+ Experience with databases, including data entry and generating reports.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Experience writing fundraising-specific communications, proposals, or reports.
+ Experience with donor-specifics databases and/or CRM systems.
+ Experience in project management, including planning, implementing, and tracking complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders.
