Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer
This role is 100% onsite in our Bohemia, NY office.
This position requires a U.S Person or a person who can qualify for a department of state or commercial license.
Position Summary:
The Senior Test Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and leading all aspects of test engineering for high-reliability electronics products within the organization. This role combines advanced technical expertise, leadership, and problem-solving abilities to manage and execute complex testing tasks, develop test systems, and mentor a team of engineers. The individual will play a key role in ensuring product quality, improving test processes, and driving innovation in testing methods and equipment.
Key Position Accountabilities:
+ Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of test systems, test fixtures, and test software.
+ Provide technical leadership in the troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of complex test-related issues.
+ Oversee the testing of prototype, production, and customer-returned products, ensuring all tests are performed to meet quality and performance standards.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Design, Manufacturing) to develop and optimize testing processes that align with production requirements.
+ Mentor and provide guidance to junior test engineers, fostering an environment of continuous learning, collaboration, and high performance.
+ Lead failure analysis and root cause investigation for both in-house and customer-returned products, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and communicated to relevant teams.
+ Champion the continuous improvement of testing methodologies, test equipment, and process optimization.
+ Provide technical support in test equipment selection and integration, ensuring the team has the proper tools to execute testing procedures effectively.
+ Review and approve test documentation, including test plans, test reports, and procedures, ensuring compliance with company and customer requirements.
+ Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., MIL-PRF, IPC) in all test activities.
+ Support the execution of qualification and certification testing as needed to meet customer requirements.
+ Collaborate with other departments to drive product improvements and reduce production-related issues.
Qualifications:
+ Education: Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Graduate degree is a plus.
+ Experience: 6+ years of experience in test engineering
+ Technical Skills:
+ Expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing test systems, test fixtures, and software.
+ Extensive knowledge of testing techniques, test equipment, failure analysis, and debugging.
+ Proficient in the use of statistical analysis techniques (SPC) and test data analysis.
+ Knowledge of electronics manufacturing, including Hybrid and PCB manufacturing.
+ Familiarity with MIL STDs 883, MIL-PRF 38534, 38510, IPC 610.
+ Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop teams of engineers, ensuring a high level of performance and collaboration.
+ Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex issues and drive solutions.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to various stakeholders.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
+ Experience with test automation, scripting languages (e.g., Python, LabVIEW).
+ Familiarity with modern test equipment and emerging testing technologies.
+ Ability to influence change and drive improvements in testing processes and practices.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Bohemia, NY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
