We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Program Manager to lead complex, high-value programs within the Aerospace and Defense sector. The successful candidate will manage and execute strategic programs across defense, aerospace, and related technology markets, ensuring delivery excellence, cost control, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
+ Lead all phases of aerospace and defense programs from kickoff through delivery, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, and performance goals are met.
+ Define program objectives, strategies, and detailed execution plans encompassing scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation.
+ Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial operations.
+ Serve as the primary customer interface with government agencies, defense primes, and commercial clients—maintaining communication, managing expectations, and providing clear updates.
+ Manage programs in full compliance with FAR, DFARS, and government contracting standards; oversee modifications, deliverables, and subcontractor flow-downs.
+ Apply mechanical, electrical, and fabrication expertise to interpret requirements and shape tailored solutions.
+ Oversee secure, compliant transport and storage systems supporting complex Aerospace and Defense supply chains.
+ Track milestones and budgets, identify risks early, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time, on-spec delivery.
+ Support proposal development, Statements of Work (SOWs), cost estimates, and customer presentations.
+ Manage internal resources and external vendors for performance, compliance, and delivery quality.
+ Maintain organized program documentation and provide executive briefings and progress reports.
+ Address technical and operational challenges in dynamic environments while maintaining compliance and customer satisfaction.
Essential Skills
+ Proven program management experience in defense, aerospace, and supply chain operations.
+ Strong record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
+ Minimum of 10 years of progressive program management experience within the aerospace and defense industry.
+ Experience with DoD acquisition processes and federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS).
+ Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, government contracting practices, ITAR, and export-control regulations.
+ Proficiency with program-management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or equivalent.
+ Strong English communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and subject-matter information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification preferred.
+ Experience managing or coordinating manufacturing activities involving metal fabrication, assembly, and quality assurance, preferably within an ISO 9001 or AS9100-certified environment.
+ Experience managing direct U.S. Government contracts and subcontracts with major defense prime contractors.
+ Background in aerospace structures programs, including knowledge of structural-analysis tools such as finite-element analysis (FEA) and CFD and thermal analysis.
+ Ability to evaluate engineering issues, contribute to design reviews, and translate technical requirements into actionable program plans.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Project, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
Work Environment
The position is based on-site at the office, with some travel required, once a month or sometimes every other month, mainly up and down the East Coast, with some West Coast travel to manufacturing sites.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mc Lean, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72.00 - $84.00/hr.
