Job Title: Manufacturing Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Manufacturing Technician to join our dynamic team. This role involves mechanical assembly, building units independently, wire soldering, and executing small assemblies with precision. The ideal candidate will eventually perform these tasks autonomously, meeting daily production goals. The position requires a blend of sitting and standing activities, depending on the process being executed.
Responsibilities
+ Perform mechanical assembly and build units independently.
+ Conduct wire soldering and small assemblies with precision.
+ Execute microscope assembly and visual inspections.
+ Collaborate with research and development engineers on non-standard builds.
+ Review and update documents and computer records.
+ Utilize various tools beyond standard hand assembly tools.
+ Update raw material logs and batch record reports.
+ Measure raw materials used in the manufacturing lab.
+ Run company macros to set times, voltages, and calibrate products.
+ Create enzymes that react with glucose for sensor calibration.
+ Manage batch processes efficiently, handling multiple batches concurrently.
+ Demonstrate effective time management and adaptability.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in mechanical assembly, batch record, and prototype assembly.
+ Familiarity with cartridge assembly, reagent manufacturing kit assembly.
+ Ability to perform research and development tasks.
+ Comfortable with sitting and standing throughout the day.
+ Capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with hand tools, microscope assembly, multimeter usage, and pipetting.
+ Knowledge in laboratory and medical assembly, dimensional inspection, and process improvement.
+ Documentation experience with paper-based systems.
+ Strong communication skills for feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.
+ Willingness to learn and collaborate with staff members.
+ Experience with non-standard builds and new manufacturing processes.

Work Environment
Openings are available on the 1st shift, from 6am to 2:30pm, with potential extensions until 3:30pm or 4pm. Occasional Saturday work may be required, with advanced notice provided. The role involves wearing a gown, mask, gloves, hair cover, and shoe covers. Be prepared to learn over 100 different processes, requiring adaptability and focus. Flexibility and willingness to work overtime are valued attributes.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
