    Job Title: Lead CNC Estimator

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lead CNC Estimator to join our family-owned shop located in Elkhart, IN. This 1st shift position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly by reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to understand and accurately assess processes, machines, and timing for prospective jobs. The role involves driving revenue, motivating machinists to hit KPIs, and reporting machine issues to the Plant Manager.

    Responsibilities

    + Review technical drawings and customer requirements.

    + Accurately assess requisite processes, machines, and timing for jobs.

    + Drive revenue and motivate machinists to meet KPIs.

    + Report machine problems to the Plant Manager.

    + Utilize shop math including geometry and basic trigonometry.

    + Perform metric conversion.

    + Work with ERP/MRP systems regularly.

    + Read blueprints and interpret GD&T.

    + Apply knowledge in horizontal boring mills, mill-turns, vertical mills, and manual machinery.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of machining experience with Mills, Manual Machinery, etc.

    + 5+ years of machining experience specifically in job shops.

    + Proficient computer skills, primarily in Excel and Word.

    + ERP system experience (M1 preferred).

    + Metal materials knowledge.

    + Customer service experience for vendor communication.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience estimating new jobs, project planning, speeds/feeds knowledge.

    + Ability to program CNC machinery using G&M code.

    + Utilize AutoCAD software (Mastercam, Surfcam, etc.).

    + Further education in CNC machining or relevant field.

    + Experience programming with Mazatrol software or designing with Surfcam language.

    Work Environment

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
