Job Title: Laser Programmer
Job Description
The Laser Programmer is responsible for creating flat layouts and tool paths from customer-supplied prints and computer-generated drawings for production use. This role involves closely collaborating with production control, estimating, customers, and production leads to ensure the accurate production of parts. The position includes tasks such as quoting and purchasing materials, interpreting customer prints and drawings, and converting them to AutoCAD 2D, 3D Inventor, SolidWorks, and Striker.
Responsibilities
+ Create correct tool paths for customer parts and pursue customer approval of prints before releasing them to production.
+ Resolve process, product, equipment, and production issues regarding production prints.
+ Conduct work activities at the direction of the production planner.
+ Discuss job priorities and production problems with production leads.
+ Set up job routings on equipment such as laser, punch press, or brake press.
+ Operate and troubleshoot laser programming and equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D Inventor, SolidWorks, and Striker.
+ Experience in drafting within a metal manufacturing or assembly plant.
+ Knowledge of production operations in press brake equipment, punch press equipment, strippit, and CNC.
+ Advanced understanding of blueprint dimensions and mechanical drawings.
+ Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
+ Ability to interpret financial data for setting production goals.
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to interact effectively with customers, management, coworkers, and outside engineers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ AAS in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent.
+ Knowledge of fixtures, tools, and gauges for measuring tolerances.
+ Mechanical skills in operating equipment to produce parts according to print.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mankato, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $39.00/hr.
