*Role Overview: Supervisor, Patient Care RN – Substance Use Disorder* as the Supervisor of the Substance Use Disorder unit at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego, you will lead a dedicated team committed to providing high-quality care for patients on their recovery journey. In this role, you’ll ensure that nursing practices align with the highest standards of care and foster a culture of safety and excellence.
*Key Responsibilities:*
* Collaborate with the Patient Care Manager to provide leadership for the unit, overseeing daily staffing and ensuring optimal patient care.
* Lead efforts to improve patient flow, bed placement, and transitions of care using cutting-edge technology.
* Ensure seamless patient hand-offs between levels of care and actively involve nursing staff in planning and coordination.
* Promote a patient-centered approach to care while maintaining a safe and supportive environment for both staff and patients.

In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
• Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
• Must remain in original department/specialty
• Must remain in original Job Title
• Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
*Required Education/Experience/Skills:*
* Minimum of two years of applicable clinical RN experience, with at least one year in a leadership role.
* Exceptional skills in communication, problem-solving, team development, and strategic planning.
* Proven ability to effectively manage responsibilities within the scope of the organization and the complexities of patient care.
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
*Required Certification/Registration:*
* Active California RN license.
* Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
* Completion of all competencies and certifications required for the Charge RN role on the unit.
*Preferred Education/Experience/Skills/Certifications:*
* BSN or specialty certification in the relevant area.
