Description
Support the Estee Lauder Corporate strategy to continue to be the global leader in prestige beauty by ensuring process innovation is developed and executed to support the values of unrivaled quality, creativity and innovation. Manage all Process Innovation responsibilities for process development activities. Support designated business segment by being the innovation steward for the process, ensuring all aspects meet or exceed the quality, creative and product delivery requirements within a managed timeline and cost objective.
Innovation Steward
+ Understand that the process / equipment innovation and technology development, enables rapid creation and development of product innovations. Represent the culture and DNA of Innovation Engineering and E2E Engineering.
Process/Equipment Concept Feasibility
+ Building technologies and test methods to drive Upstream / Downstream Innovation and Advanced Technical Readiness Program. Search new applicable technologies both within and outside our industry in order to continuously evaluate best practice and support product innovation.
+ Provide comprehensive feasibility of each concept or equipment solution that defines function, manufacturability, component cost, tooling estimates, preliminary development lead time, risk and global consistency.
+ Perform technical testing to assess product integrity, performance, and efficacy.
+ Serve as technical resource for all levels of the organization, expertise, and knowledge across various categories in synergy with the advanced technical readiness program.
+ Providing vital technical guidance to the management team, ensuring our organization remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
+ Shape the future of strategic product forms and / or process innovation, technical excellence, and product launches within our organization.
Project Management
+ Identify and understand transformations driving the compounding and filling process including transformation requirements and learning plans.
+ Build value analysis into every new development ensuring the construction and design provides the most cost effective way to achieve design criteria but also provide the best function and quality.
+ Execute projects through Technical Proof of Manufacturability to ensure design and construction meets all Estee Lauder engineering requirements.
+ Coordinate filling activities, procurement of raw materials & componentry, and distribution of samples to cross-functional teams.
+ Effectively document and communicate test results with cross-functional teams
+ Work with Manufacturing and Quality Engineering to define specifications, design criteria and defect ranges to ensure optimal process flow from raw materials through filling and assembly.
+ Develop Process specifications and validate that the process can reliably meet these.
+ Keep informed through colleagues, vendors, journals, professional affiliations, and seminars of new materials, processes, and procedures.
Direct and Indirect Management
+ Create your own goals and objectives that are in line with corporate and departmental strategy.
+ Communicate and work closely with cross-functional development groups
+ Work with key customers to generate outlines efficiently and processes correctly and effectively.
+ Build and cultivate relationships with Global Manufacturing and Manufacturing Engineering
Qualifications
Direct Experience
+ 5 + years experience in Process Development, R&D or Engineering in FMCG ideally with in a Cometics/Beauty business
+ Concentrated experience in regulated industries (ie. Food, Pharma, Cosmetics, etc…)
+ Hands-on experience with analytical test methods for raw materials, components and finished goods testing
+ Proficiency in computer systems including formulation and process development systems, MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Timeline management systems.
Technical Competency
+ Technical competency formulation science and color understanding is preferred.
+ Detailed understanding of batch processes and equipment.
+ Hands on experience of lab, pilot plant and manufacturing scale operations is required.
