    Overview:Key responsibilities include monitoring Distribution Center for Regulatory and customer compliance. Providing guidance and/or support as it relates to quality concerns raised by internal colleagues and/or distributors. Following up on quality issues as they relate to inventory as well as customer complaints received. Complete special projects as assigned by the QA Manager. Analyze product returns and product in inventory to identify trends in quality issues.

    Job Description:

    Responsibilities:

    + Conduct daily walkthrough of distribution center and communicate any potential food safety/food quality and/or sanitation issues to QA Manager and Dept. Mgrs.

    + Prepare Executive Kitchen for all Product Sensory Evaluations

    + Ensure correct products are ordered/picked for Product Slicing in NY & SAR; coordinate weekly shipping of product to SAR.

    + Conduct Purveyor Truck Audits daily and communicate non-conformances to Operations Mgmt./QA Mgr.

    + Monitoring product concerns reported and performing AQL, local concerns reported, uploading Records, etc.

    + Perform audits on the receiving process daily (i.e., completion of receiving records, product and trailer conditions, product temperature, barcodes scanability, etc.).

    + Verify facility records (i.e., Cooler records, Scale Verification records, etc.) are accurately completed and up to date.

    + Coordinate the communication process for when product is either placed on hold and/or released.

    + Perform sanitation inspections of warehouse & deli areas for cleanliness.

    + Prepare reports on inspection findings and incidents.

    + Collect, evaluate, and ship samples to outside labs for product analysis.

    + Communicate with Distribution Center/Plants on Quality and Customers issues.

    + Review and process Purveyor credits and communicate trends as necessary to the QA Manager.

    + Completion of any additional assigned duties requested by department management.

     

    Education and Experience

     

    + High School Diploma or GED Diploma, plus additional specialized training in a food environment product quality.

    + At least Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive work experience.

     

    Language Skills

     

    + Fluency in the English language.

    + Bilingual a plus.

    + Must have excellent oral/written skills at a technical and general level.

    + Able to effectively communicate with all levels within both a manufacturing and corporate environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs.

    Additional Responsibilities

    + Assist with training personnel in the correct safety and cleaning methods in the deli.

    + Assist with training personnel in the visual inspection of our BH Products.

    + Additional duties assigned by manager.

     

    Mathematical Skills

     

    + General math skills

    + Must be able to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs.

    + Must possess an understanding of statistical analysis.

     

    Reasoning Ability

     

    + Must possess sharpened analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

     

    + Driver's License a must

    + Must be Serve Safe Certified or able to attend a course and successfully pass certification exam.

    + Certified by NYC Health Dept. for Food Handling or able to attend and successfully complete a training course.

    + Preferably HACCP trained or be able to attend a training course and successfully complete a training course.

    + Preferably Certified as a QA Technician or able to successfully complete a course by certifying body (i.e., ASQ, etc.)

     

    Physical Demands

     

    + Must be able to lift overhead up to 30 pounds.

    + Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

    + Must able to perform effective organoleptic evaluations (corrected sensory ability is acceptable). This includes visual (acuity and color differentiation), olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and auditory ability.

     

    Work Environment

     

    + Must be able to work in both warm and cold environments

    + Must be able to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and be capable of withstanding: loud noises, fast-moving machinery, etc.

    + Travel required about a 40% between New York and New Jersey Distribution or other facility if needed.

     

    Compensation

     

    + Based on experience, rate per hour $19.58 - $29.36

     

    Compensation Range:$19.58 - $29.36
