    The Job You Will Perform:

    We are looking for self-motivated individuals who can perform a multitude of functions in a flexible, fast-paced production environment. Our workplace requires individuals who understand the needs of the business while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, productivity and waste.

    Primary Maintenance Mechanic Duties/Responsibilities Include:

    + Troubleshoot, install, maintain and repair defective parts, machinery and mechanical equipment such as paper bag machines and equipment, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, physical structures, plumbing, hydraulic and automated systems

    + Perform preventive maintenance activities such as lubricating, aligning components and observing operations, vibrations and noise level

    + Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, mill, welder, grinder and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.

    + Work safely by observing safety rules, policies, and procedures. Identify unsafe conditions or actions

    + Respond to work orders submitted by employees

    + Work independently as well as part of a team

    + Assist supervisor in ordering parts

    + Plans and obtains cost estimates and executes projects under guidance of the maintenance supervisor

    + Provide training in areas of expertise or knowledge

    + Support facility improvements

    + Maintain clean and organized work areas, cleaning up areas after tasks are complete

    + Participate and execute actions from the quality improvement program

    + Maintain compliance with company quality systems and support audits

    + Perform emergency/break down repair as needed

    + Other duties as may be assigned

    The Skills You Will Bring:

    + Experience/knowledge in mechanical troubleshooting, welding, metal fabrication, plumbing, pneumatics, confined space and mobile equipment

    + Ability to problem solve and prioritize work

    + Ability to work with minimum supervision

    + Ability to accurately use and read a variety of measuring devices

    + Ability to bend, squat and kneel, and climb frequently

    + Ability to lift average weighted materials, 50 lbs. up to 70 lbs. occasionally

    + Ability to stand for 8 – 12 hours

    + Ability to work varied hours/days

    + Ability to adapt to change

    + Effective written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to read manuals and diagrams

    Education:

    + Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocation Certificate preferred but not required
