    Job Title: **Manager, Distributed Energy Resources**

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a strategic leader to shape and execute our vision for Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) across the grid. This role will spearhead the development and integration of advanced technologies, including microgrids, battery energy storage, demand flexibility, and emerging grid-edge solutions, across our transmission and distribution systems.

     

    The ideal candidate will bring a blend of cross-functional leadership experience, strategic thinking, and technical aptitude to drive innovation and operational excellence in DER deployment and integration.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Provide leadership to cross-functional teams responsible for DER strategy, project development, design and implementation, customer program support, and integration.

    + Lead and represent power delivery with stakeholders to develop and advance DERs to support growth efforts and customer goals. This includes understanding emerging technologies to support large load growth, load management and flexibility, and resiliency opportunities.

    + Work with planning, operations, and customer teams to shape strategies and policies for effective DER deployment and integration. Understand system and customer value to drive deployments across the grid.

    + Oversee the successful execution of DER projects, ensuring alignment with regulatory commitments, customer expectations, and grid modernization goals.

    + Evaluate and work cross functionally to safely integrate emerging DER technologies including energy storage, solar, microgrids, flexible loads, V2X, and advanced inverters.

    + Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate DERs into grid operations, planning, and forecasting tools.

    + Coordinate with customer teams and regulatory teams to ensure DER strategies meet external commitments and customer expectations.

    + Represent externally, including at conferences, working groups, and industry events.

    + Focus on Our Values and foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field,with a preference towards experience with DERs and emerging technologies.

    + 5+ years in the energy sector, with preference to those with direct or indirect utility experience.

    + 2+ years in a leadership or management role; with demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, driving them towards common goals and fostering a culture of innovation.

    + Proven ability to lead teams, develop strategy, and manage complex projects.

    + Sound understanding of DER technologies and grid integration considerations.

    Skills, Abilities, and Passion:

    + Enthusiasm for technology innovation, coupled with a passion for business transformation and strategy development.

    + Ability to lead cross-functionally to represent grid transformation with customer teams, regulatory, and other business units as well as externally.

    + Strong written and oral communication skills, for clear communication at all levels internally and externally, including with national industry organizations.

    + Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in a team environment, and a track record of developing strong relationships with other leaders and teams.

    + Proven ability to build consensus and deliver results around abstract and complex concepts.

    + Demonstrated sound judgment skills, showcasing the ability to understand the priority of projects and their impact on organizational goals.

    + Self-starter with strong analytical, business planning, and execution skills. Capable of taking ownership of projects and driving them to successful delivery.

     

    Location & Flexibility

     

    This role is based in our **Atlanta, GA** office at 241 Ralph McGill Boulevard with in-office expectations. Some travel to potential sites or external events will be required.
