    This unique work-study apprenticeship combines on-the-job training at our Jamestown facility with academic coursework through the Precision Machining Technology associate degree program at North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) in Wahpeton, ND.

     

    You'll gain real-world aerospace manufacturing experience, mentorship from industry experts, and financial support - including a $15,000 sign-on bonus - as you build your skills and your career.

    What You'll Do:

    + Work under the guidance of experienced mentors to set up and operate precision machine tools such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.

    + Machine and inspect parts to exact specifications using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement instruments.

    + Learn to read blueprints, interpret technical drawings, and understand Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) standards.

    + Support Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to enhance production efficiency and safety.

    + Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality operations.

    + Gain hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) and other advanced inspection technologies.

    + Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations and attend required training sessions.

    Program Schedule:

    You'll split your time between:

    + Collins Aerospace - Jamestown, ND: Hands-on work experience during school breaks (fall, spring, winter, and summer).

    + NDSCS - Wahpeton, ND: Classroom and lab instruction during the academic year.

     

    Your official start date at Collins Aerospace will be May 2026.

    + Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (Collins Aerospace does not offer sponsorship for this role).

    + Demonstrated teamwork, reliability, and eagerness to learn.
