Job Title: R&D Lab TechnicianJob Description
The R&D Lab Technician will support the BioProcess Collaboration Center by assisting in experiment execution and general lab upkeep, facilitating efficient lab operations. This role is crucial in accelerating process and product development, enabling new innovations in both upstream and downstream processing to reach the market faster.
Responsibilities
+ Assist with chromatography and cell culture experiment execution (20%)
+ Maintain all lab equipment, coordinate with facilities, engineering, and outside vendors for preventive maintenance, new equipment commissioning, vendor appointments, and equipment calibration (10%)
+ Maintain an accurate lab inventory of chemicals, reagents, assay kits, and consumables, coordinating with the local procurement group (25%)
+ Champion lab organization and lead 5S initiatives for lab workspaces (5%)
+ Perform routine lab tasks such as glassware cleaning, stocking supplies, and freezer maintenance (15%)
+ Coordinate shipping and receipt of materials with the receiving department (5%)
+ Collaborate with Finance to track expenses, ensure invoice payments, and assist in annual budget planning (5%)
+ Work with facilities and safety for chemical waste management and tracking site safety metrics (5%)
+ Prepare chromatography and formulation buffers, and cell culture medium as requested (10%)
+ Maintain weighing balances, pH meters, and DI water systems as needed

+ Solid MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word skills
+ Ability to adhere to standard procedures and protocols

+ Ability to write and document tasks in a timely manner
+ Ability to work effectively with a variety of functional groups
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associates degree or equivalent experience
+ Experience with SAP, SmartSheet, MS Project preferred
+ Aseptic technique experience preferred
+ Prior lab experience preferred
Work Environment
Join a team of five located in the QC Building, equipped with a full laboratory and stock room. The work environment is laid back with a Monday to Friday schedule and no overtime. This role operates under GLP principles, offering a less stressful environment compared to GMP laboratories.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $30.00/hr.
