    The Controls Engineer will help deliver innovative automation solutions across life sciences, automotive, and diverse industrial sectors. The team thrives on solving complex challenges in material handling, process automation, and advanced manufacturing environments. We are seeking a Controls Engineer to play a key role in designing, programming, and commissioning world-class automation systems.

    Responsibilities:

    -Program Allen-Bradley PLCs from scratch (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, and related platforms).

     

    -Develop HMI/SCADA applications to support operator interfaces and system visualization.

     

    -Lead system integration projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

     

    -Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and project management to deliver turnkey solutions.

     

    -Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and validation both in-house and at client sites.

     

    -Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.

     

    -Document system architecture, code, and procedures for long-term maintainability.

    Qualifications:

    -Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

     

    -Minimum 5 years of experience in controls engineering within integrator or industrial automation environments.

     

    -Strong experience in material handling systems (conveyors, robotics, automated storage/retrieval systems).

     

    -Expertise in Allen-Bradley PLC programming, including ladder logic, structured text, and function block.

     

    -Experience with industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus, etc.).

     

    -Knowledge of safety systems and standards (ANSI, NFPA, ISO).

     

    -Ability to travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support (up to 30%).

     

    -Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Smyrna, TN.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
